Thermal Floor Mats
Thermal Floor Mats are made to protect the driver from the
heat off the floorboards. Exhaust heat coming through the
floorboards can burn a driver or lead to driver fatigue during
long events. These floor mats utilize a 3-layer structure to
provide the best product at a reasonable price. The bottom
layer is a reflective fiberglass laminate that also provides a
moisture barrier for the rest of the floor mat.
The core of the floor mat is a fiber insulation selected to
withstand far greater temperatures than it will receive in the
racecar. The top layer of the floor mat is a silicone coated fiberglass material that increases the thermal protection while providing a long wearing surface. The mats come standard with grommets for attachments. Options for the mats include rubber heel plate, CarbonX molten-metal barrier, and different attachment methods.
